Trip #2098 Perrysburg, OH > Maple Heights, OH > Omaha, NE

We were live-unloaded @ Ace, then recv 2 load offers, both going 2 OH. We opted 4 the longest 1. We were 2 deadhead 119 mi over to Maple Heights, OH—suburb of Cleveland.
It happened 2 b my turn 2 drive, so after determining the most logical rt, I headed on over. It appeared that we could save some mi by dropping down off I-480 on OH 17 instead of going clear over to I-271S as per directions 0n the QualComm. Just as I turned off on OH 17, I saw a sign for Truck 17 a couple exits further on. Traffic was heavy & I was already committed 2 taking the reg OH 17, & since there were no signs 2 indicate that trks weren’t permitted, so I continued on. Gradually, the hwy began going thru a residential area, & I eventually came upon a sign saying no trks permitted ahead w/o a permit, which presented a bit of a dilemma. I spotted an old service station that had been converted in2 a foreign car repair shop which appeared large enough 2 permit my driving in 1 drive & back out the other in order 2 make a 180 as I came back out on the 4-lane st. Thankfully the place was closed over the noon hr, so no explanation was needed while I cked r trk atlas 4 a Plan B. It appeared that I needed 2 go a couple blks further E, pk up the interstate & go a couple exits further S. I waited till traffic cleared, did my 180 w/o a problem & headed E on the 1st X/st. Alas, I had misjudged my position a little & quickly discovered that I had been a couple blks s rather than n of the x/st I needed. Up 2 that pt I had been ahead of the game, however by the time I was able 2 find an exit where I could turn around & head back N, I had accumulated as many deadhead mi as if I would have simply followed the Q/C directions in the 1st place. By that time, Lawrence had woke up & discovered the error of my ways. Thankfully, he was not critical, & we soon arvd @ the shpr. I was glad we had an ample window of time in which 2 pk up & dlv the load w/o that added pressure. We had hauled a load out of this place just recently [re: Trip #2094]. It was Logistics Partners, a division of Smufit-Stone Corp. We were again going 2 B taking mt cereal boxes out 2 Kellogg’s in Omaha, NE. This time they were all 4 Fruit Loops—212,674 cases of flattened out cereal boxes, wghing a total of 40,000#’s. We could drop & hook @ Kellogg’s in Omaha anytime on Fri, the 12th of May.
